Artwork of Dick Chase
Bosch was a 16th century fantasy artist, famous for his morbid scenes of hell and purgatory. This self-portrait is based on a primitive pencil sketch he made just before his death at age 66. Because Bosch was a fantasy artist, I have put him on vacation in a painting by 20th century artist, Georgio DeChirico. Bosch was also the leader of a "Marian cult", which worshiped the Virgin Mary as a god.
Georgio DeChirico was a 20th century surrealist painter. He was born in Italy, but his father was an architect who designed building and bridges in Greece. While living in Greece he created a original style that combined dreamlike fantasy-surrealism with classical Greek subject matter. In this painting I have placed Georgio on an icy moon of Jupiter with a classical Greek painting. His shirt has on it the Italian tradition dance "Tarantella" in which people act "crazy" because of a bite by a tarantula spider.
There are many thousands of planets beyond the view of our current astronomers...life is probably present out there; what form it may take is still a mystery!
Archimboldo was a famous Italian artist of the 19th century who combined vegetables and leaves into portraits of humans. Here is my attempt at the same concept!
In this fantasy you can see some elements and parts of musical instruments! They take on the characteristics of a giant monument!
In art history many have portrayed the eagle as symbolic of their nation or of a victory...Here is my version!
